Compounds that influence the properties of biological fluids. Affect the viscocity, melting point, and ionic strength of aqueous solutions.
- Some osmolytes are: Creatine, Glycine, Trimethylglycine, Taurine, glycerophosphorlcholine, inositol, Insulin, and Glutamate.
- Roughly speaking though, it’s cellular hydration. This can induce hypertrophy and inhibit muscle catabolism.
