- This increses hair growth everywhere. But I don’t think it grows new hairs.
- The Ricinoleic Acid content herein induces PGE2 synthesis and agonizes EP3 and EP4 receptors (PGE2 receptors).
- Not a 5-AR inhibitor or anything. It’s safe, unlike peppermint oil
- 1% palmitic, 1% stearic, 3.2% oleic, 4-7% linoleic, and 90% Ricinoleic Acid.

- Probably diminishing returns after 2mL a day.
Supplementation #
- Bloats some people, and might make your face’s skin look weird?
- Jarvoss said Haitian Castor Oil > anything else (~90% ricinoleic) ≈ Jamacian black castor oil (which is alkaline; possibly preferable for topical application)
- NOW Solutions Castor Oil is $5 for 120mL so at the end of the day fuck it lol just get that one.
- Oral gave a guy Gyno, probably due to aromatase. Wonder how much this is prevented with topical.
You can take it orally (better absorption, best option) or topically mix it with DMSO, or keep it on your scalp all day. Or eyebrows as a Minoxidil alternative.
-
1-4ml per day, never taking >2ml at once, since PGE2 is laxative and can upset the stomach.
- Ray Peat said it isn’t absorbed, so it can be taken safely a few times a week to clean the intestines.
-
Apparently has to be cold-pressed to do anything.
-
People mix it with coconut oil in a 1:2 ratio.

“Castor Oil” – The Culprit of Acute Hair Felting
- Pretty questionable when used topically, lol.
-
High in phthalates - watch out for which bround you use https://mamavation.com/beauty/castor-oil-toxic-phthalates.html. NOW has 283ppb. Viva naturals had the lowest at 95ppb. The best one in a glass bottle had 150ppb, Heritage Store.
