Quite interesting. Notice it’s strictly carboxylate in the name - this protein is ‘proton-coupled’; it binds a H+ and then a Lactate, or perhaps Wikipedia: Can be upregulated by PPAR-α, HIF-1α, NRF2, and AMPK.
