  • Improves glucose tolerance in diabetics; reduced fasting blood glucose, associated with a significant decrease in incremental glucose area. Probably the safest ergot derivative, considering it antagonizes all of 5-HT and so on.
• Serotonin antagonist, specifically 5-HT1, 5-HT2, 5-HT6, and 5-HT7.
• Slight D2 agonism.
• Powerfully lowers Prolactin through a non-dopamine mechanism (and with dopamine presumably).
• Lowers Cortisol, improves insulin sensitivity.
• Kills Candida - metergoline is unique among ergot derivatives in its anti-fungal properties.
• Synergizes with Bromocriptine
• Ecstatichamster thinks it’s the best anti-prolactin/anti-Gyno of the popular anti-serotonin drugs. Tamoxifen just blocks estrogen; it doesn’t get rid of it. (Travis believes bromo is the best anti-prolactin, though)
