SAP-97 (Discs large 1 (DLG1)) #
A MAGUK.
Has a Myosin VI binding site.
-
Synapse-Associated Protein 97 Selectively Associates with a Subset of AMPA Receptors Early in their Biosynthetic Pathway
- Induction of LTP increases delivery of GluR1 to the membrane.
- In hippocampal Pyramidal Neurons, Increased LTP (it’s not synonymous?) or increased CAMK II increases delivery of GluR1 as shown, however this does not take place when the GluR1’s PDZ-interacting domain is mutated, BUT this has no effect on basal synaptic transmission.
- As shown above, SAP-97 dissociates with GluR1 at the plasma membrane, where Stargazin takes the lead. Therefore it basically brings it from the RER to the plasma membrane.
- The only PDZ protien known to interact with GluR1 (no Patrick stargazin is not a pdz), and it binds to it directly. It interacts with 4.1N.

Synapse-associated protein 97 selectively associates with a subset of AMPA receptors early in their biosynthetic pathway
- We also show that internalization of GluR1, as triggered by NMDAR activation, does not require SAP97."
