PDK1

2022-04-12: reference:

PDK1 (Phosphoinositide-dependent kinase-1) (PDPK1) #

  • Has a binding site for substrates, ATP, and the docking site/PIF pocket.

    • In signalling cascades you’ll see it directly connected to PI3K, basically.
  • Implicated in development/progression of melanomas.

  • 500 Its main fnctions here are phosphorylating Protein Kinase B, Protein Kinase C, and S6K.

    • Notice it is not bound to PIP3 on the right; it does not require activation at the membrane for phosphorylation of many of its substrates (including PKB actually, that’s for another day though).
      • So much for the name “Phosphoinositide-dependent kinase”
    • ‘H-motif kianse’ isn’t really a distinguished category. I guess it could be a lot of things.
