Tretinoin (all-trans retinoic acid) 170 #

Blepharitis/Dry Eye #

  • = Meibomian gland damage
  • Blepharitis in the United States 2009: a survey-based perspective on prevalence and treatment
  • Wait 20-30 mins after washing to apply - and wait 20 minutes b efore skincare, moisturizer, etc.
    • There are horror stories of dry eyes from it. People put vaseline around their eyes to block it out (thought vaseline itself could ry it out)
      • Or aquaphor, that stuff i used as chapstick I’m pretty sure
    • (Sandwich method: light moisturizing both before and after.)
      • The initial moisture might give extra penetration, though.

Protocol #

  • Keep away from the corners of the nose, mouth, and the eyes of course.
  • Retinization: Dryness and peeling, and then the purge, with more acne etc. Lasts a few weeks or up to many months before progress ensues. Apparently this doesn’t have to happen. But it does 2-4 weeks after beginning.
    • Due to opening of microcomedones.
  • I read it’s much better for consistent low dose than infrequent high dose. https://www.reddit.com/r/tretinoin/comments/12j166t/in_defense_of_rapid_retinization/ doing it nightly right off the bat might get retinization over with. Perhaps it lets the stratum corneum get thinned out ASAP.
  • A lot of people, for instance on reddit, combine it with Azelaic Acid after a certain point.
    • I think you start with using it separately in the morning and then morning+night (so with tret) once you acclimate to the AZA - apply after for the retinols to absorb better.
      • Alternatively, I could use it on nights I don’t use tret. 15%+
  • 0.025-0.1 have the same anti-aging benefits after 1 year mark?
  • Thickens the deeper layers over time, while compacting (not destroying or whatever) the stratum corneum.

  • Salicylic Acid could contribute to irritation?
  • Niacinamide probably mixes well. Some people say it’s comedogenic and it mya exacerbate but who knows

Source #

  • I’vew heard highstreetpharma as well which is a modafinil site I recognize.
  • Altreno is a new product. Not vegan I think. And it’s just paired with random hydrating stuff, I dunno.
  • Mixed reviews on what formulation…
    • Gel: Usually easier to spread, and may be more moisturizing.
    • Cream: Emolient (moisturizing) ones are the best kind.
      • Pretty clean formulation also. Mostly FA/FA alcohols.
      • Supposedly the isoproyl myristate can be irritating and lead to purging!
    • Lotion like altreno might be the best of all types. Highstreetpharma.com: their crypto payment service is verboten in the US. Although I wonder if it has no effect on the actual shipping address
  • Skinorac.com: legit, but their only reliable payment method is gift cards (literallly do not redeem) Skincareex.net Alldaychemist.com Tarasc.com
  • Thebeautybliss.com: well-received but always out of stock
    • Their cream is Tretiheal, which is available elsewhere.
    • Amazon pay only Reliablerxpharmacy.com
  • Tretin = Bunk. But at least it’s soothing.
  • Tretiheal = probably weak too.
  • Mercari gel might be my only saving grace
