Fibroblast #
-
A myofibroblast is a state between fibroblast and smooth muscle cell. During and after differentiation, they upregulate expression of Fibronectin, Collagens, and hyaluronic acid.
- EDA isoform of Fibronectin (EDA-FN), and collagen type I (COL1A1/COL1A2) are typical markers of myofibroblast-dependent synthesis of pro-fibrotic extracellular matrix
- TGF-β is a key factor in inducing myofibroblast differentiation. Also regulated by other cyto/chemokines and adhesion moecules like IL-1 and Interferon-γ.

TGF- activation impairs fibroblast ability to support adult lung epithelial progenitor cell organoid formation
- Whether (fibro-to-myofibro differentiation) impacts the ability of fibroblasts to support lung epithelial repair remains little explored. TGF-β pretreatment of both phFB and MRC5 impaired organoid-supporting ability.
- FGF-7 promoted organoid formation.

- One infant foreskin can grow into thousands of square feet of new tissue. It’s often sold to biotech companies and can be used for like decades. 1 foreksin generates $100,000
