DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) #

• Only carries molecules with a molecular weight below 1000.

• Has nearly 100% absorption. For steroids, this is like 3-10x better than oral.

• Smells pretty terrible and makes you burp sulphury/garlic. Wtf!?

• Never let it touch plastics, or it’ll leech them into your body.

• Supercools easily and remelts slowly at room temperature. Stable up to 100°C at any pH, prefering neutral/alkaline near its boiling point. Pure DMSO crystallizes at temperatures below 65.3F. That’s fucked.

• Best stored at room temperature or a cool place ie 10-30C.

• Hygroscopic, will attract air into itself, so the container must be tightly closed.

  • Furthermore, exposure to temperature, air, or heating, turns DMSO brown due to transformation of sulfoxide to dimethylsulfide.

• Although DMSO readily penetrates human skin in concentrations of 70-100%, at concentrations of 67% or less, DMSO molecules are hydrated, which greatly reduces dermal penetration

• Doesn’t like fat.

  • It seems quite volatile when handling it, but in reality it’s really safe for the cells and you can take it orally and everything. The irritation when applied topically is just an intense drying reaction.
