• Sildenafil Increases Muscle Protein Synthesis and Reduces Muscle Fatigue
  • PDE5 inhibition (half life of 4-5 hours) preventing degradation cGMP → things outlined in Nitric Oxide: !Nitric Oxide
  • Remodels the skeletal muscle proteome!
    • the proteomic analyses did not suggest that mitochondrial biogenesis contributed to the reduced skeletal muscle fatigability in the sildenafil group following treatment, especially since the short treatment wouldn’t have time for all that
  • Glucose tolerance did not change in any treatment group. However, RMR increased (+~0.025 L/min oxygen consumption, e.g. .28->.30)

Tadalafil (Cialis) #

• PDE5 inhibitor all the same, except its half life is 17.5 hours.
• Weaker PDE1 and PDE6 inhibition than sildenafil/vardenafil.
  • Some sildenafil users see a bluish tinge and have a heightened sensitivity to light because of PDE6 inhibition
• Stronger PDE11 inhibition than sildenafil/vardenafil.
• May be better at increasing testosterone than Sildenafil.
