Exposure from food = (food surface area in contact with plastic) x (flexibility of plastic) x (fattiness of food) x (time) x (temp).

  • They are plasticizers (added to plastic to increase flexibility/transparency/durability/longevity). They really don’t get excreted, not easily, as they’re fat soluble.
  • Contributes to development of intellectual disability and gender dysmorphia.
  • High exposure increases urinary Quinolinic Acid (QA) R by inhibiting ACMSD R.
  • Milk leeches pthalates from the plastic tubing.
