Peripheral Nervous System #
Anything outside the brain and spinal cord, aka the CNS, is in the peripheral nervous system. Simple. It’s like a relay between the CNS and the rest of the body.
- Comprised of the somatic nervous system and the Autonomic Nervous System.
Somatic Nervous System #
Targets skeletal muscles to contract. Voluntary.
- Type Aα fibers.
- Uses acetylcholine.
- No ganglia.
