• Glutamate + ATP + Ammonia -> Glutamine + ADP + Pi
  • 
    • Yeah it’s not a kinase so the ATP -> ADP+Pi is weird, but peep the intermediate.
• Basically reversed by glutaminase (Glutamine + H2O -> Glutamate + NH3)
• Indeed, this definitely seems like one reason why hyperammonemia increases GABAergic tone.
