Cancer #
- Haidut: Simple heating of tumor often leads to a rapid and complete cure
- Apparently, 19% of genes found mutated in cancer are related to metabolic processes, and 30% of these affect lipid metabolism. Proliferating cells need more of them, I suppose.
Warburg Effect #
- Warburg Effect: Cancer cells predominantly use aerobic glycolysis, (anaerobic Glycolysis - in the presence of oxygen).
- At one point in the 60s the Pentagon directly financed a think tank dedicated to discrediting or misinterpreting Dr. Otto Warburg’s work. The “sugar feeds cancer” concept was probably pretty straightforward invented by the US military. It’s why they called it “the war on cancer”.
