Illustrated Glossary of Organic Chemistry
A cute HTML site from UCLA. Brief and to the point!
sci-hub (various domains)
If you don't know about this, I feel bad. Free access any paywalled scientific article.
frontiersin.org
An awesome publisher. No sci-hub necessary either. If you use a generic search engine to find research articles, that's fine, but if you're looking for something to subscribe to, have a look here. I can especially recommend their journal on anything neuro-, of which there's like 2 dozen.
researchrabbit.ai
On the topic of researh discovery, this is a new tool for that. It allows you to visually perceive the flow of information on several levels of specific topics, between topics, papers, their authors, their citations, etc; in viewing the connections, you can trawl what's foundational to each paper, what's foundational to that, and so on. There's also an AI algorithm to it.
reactome.org/PathwayBrowser
biochemical-pathways.com
Kind of just for fun more than it is practical, but would make for an interesting poster in the lab. A visual overview of the fucking labryinth that is 'metabolism' as a whole.
pathbank.org
another massive online encyclopedia of biochemical pathways.
Project Surpass mindmap
Youtube: Medicosis Perfectionalis
Chris Masterjohn
Pretty good source of info on the pragmatic questions you may have about nutrient supplementation, etc.
Longevity
senescence.info
genomics.senesence.info - DrugAge
Database of aging-related drugs.
lifespan.io
A bit popsci-ish but it's a start.
Food
Cornucopia Institute Scorecards
Quality check on organic food brands.
toxinless.com
I use this all the time. As it stands, you can't just guess what's in a food/supplement. You want the thing, and only the thing, not any additives, heavy metals, glue, or whatever the hell.
soma.cx
List of bottled water without fluoride
He's subject to controversy on many fronts, namely due to his opposition to any and all polyunsaturated fats including omega-3, his opposition to serotonin, and his praise of sugar - and if you're up-to-date on the current (2021) health fads, sugar (or even carbs as a whole) is surfacing as the new bogeyman, fish oil is raking in the dough as a billions-dollar industry, and serotonin is the putative "happy hormone". At large, he goes deep against the grain of the authoritarian medical agenda, which is a given for anybody who takes a critical lens.
