Random (& general science)
http://xahlee.org/
Classic site. Years of a middle-aged asian man's rambling. Great writeups on Emacs, some of the best guides out there on ergonomics, and a bunch of stuff like that.
/g/'s good sites
Big ass list... basically has everything honestly; probably duplicates from this page but I'm just listing stuff I've already found to be interesting.
simplifier.neocities.org
DIY projects on making random hardware from scratch. Think Dr. Stone.

The Science Career General Paste
Projectrho/Atomic Rockets
"So You Wanna Build A Rocket?" Lol.
ChemSpider
#KALIACC Archive
Interesting narcissistic microcelebrity hot takes
Ghost in the Shell
One of my favorite anime/manga franchises. Dense, intricate expositions into a potential cyberpunk future.
Serial Experiments Lain
Another classic. Just watch it if you haven't. Present day, present time...
LAINCHAN_
Overall an awesome imageboard. Too cozy.

Here's mine:
OPSEC
digdeeper.neocities.org/
Great writeups on private/secure software and escaping the botnet hivemind and so on. Extensive reviews on the best web browsers, email providers, search engines (spoiler: SearX) (but also Yandex) - and other stuff like that.
tilde.club/~acz/shadow_wiki/
As above. (And tilde.club itself is interesting: 3000+ random mini sites)
wiki.techxodus.org
Brief guides; it has a lot of the stuff you need to get started. It's particularly aimed towards those who aren't tech-savvy.
privacytools.io
Moar software recommendations. Many categories.
Privacy Redirect
Browser extension for that redirects certain pozzed sites to frontends, i.e youtube to individous.

How learn computer?
All the notable guides out there tl;dr: "just read these books bro." Which is true, as long as you know how to study→8. More or less all the same material is recommended.

Arch Linux right now since it's what I'm used to but if it shits the bed for whatever reason, then I'll try Debian or openSUSE, since I don't really have a need for bleeding edge and just want something that'll last the years. I'd like to try a de-botnetted macOS. (And by that I don't mean *BSD, but sure that too.)
Plus I'm wary of the EMF exposure, and if you own a phone period then there's not really a reason to ever have it in airplane mode or with hardware backdoors shut off and all that if that precludes you from receiving calls.
